More than 80 TWU students took part in the annual Giving Kids a Smile event in March. The free event, sponsored by the university’s Dental Hygiene Program, is a daylong activity devoted to providing free dental services to underrepresented youths from 3 to 19 in the Denton community.
Guided by grief, OT prof pens book about son’s mental illness

After seven years of processing her grief, Texas Woman's clinical professor Claudette Fette published No Saints Here, a book that weaves together her late son Aaron’s personal writings with her own experiences navigating his mental illness. The book contrasts the trauma Aaron endured in ineffective treatment centers with Fette’s professional insights into evidence-based, compassionate occupational therapy.

Texas Woman’s professors received a grant from BUILD Dairy to improve the flavor of whey protein products by studying how proteins interact with flavor compounds. By combining traditional analysis with advanced computational modeling, they’re hoping their findings will lead to more sustainable, cost-effective and delicious flavors in protein products.
Rigby named associate dean for AI, research innovation

Rhett Rigby, PhD, has been named associate dean for artificial intelligence and research innovation in the College of Health Sciences. He assumes the new role on July 1.
